Meet our Office and Technical Staff
Office and Technical Staff: Carol Coleman | Erin Austin | Kerri Falardeau | Lizzy Zroika | Bonnie Jefferson
Carol Coleman

The voice you hear when you call is Carol’s. Carol has been with the practice for over 25 years, and as a client remarked the other day: “Carol may be your best asset.” Carol says: “Even though I haven’t personally met many of you, I have come to feel that so many are my dear friends because of all the conversations and situations we have shared. I hope to be here for everyone for years to come.”
Carol lives on a farm on a country road in Auburn.
She has successfully raised 3 children and has 3 grandchildren. She helps care for the family’s horses, various rabbits, a dog and a cat. Besides managing Maine
Equine Associates, she also keeps her husband’s business straight (Win’s Body Shop and Wrecker Service on the Waterman Road in Auburn).

Erin Austin
Erin Austin is our lead technician whom you will often see with us on farm calls. She is married with two children, Isaac and Carlee. Her husband Corey is a certified farrier. The Austins own a large farm in Sabattus, sharing the space with 3 horses and 2 dogs.

Kerri Falardeau
Kerri works for MEA as both a tech on the road, and is also a great help in the office. She has two kids, one in elementary school now. The family lives on a farm in Richmond and has 2 horses, 2 goats, and 18 chickens. Kerri has been a riding instructor and has managed horse barns.

Lizzy Zroika
Lizzy is on the road with Dr Tirrell as her tech. Lizzy loves and has been involved with horses for the last 12 years. She was formerly an assistant trainer and instructor in Durham and has recently started working with MEA and is enjoying every day of it. She lives in Topsham with her small but loving family. Joel, her partner, is a designer at BIW. He and Lizzy are kept company by their 5 year old Miniature Pinscher “Loki” and their ferocious guard cat “Samuel Adams”.

Bonnie Jefferson
Bonnie is at present in her “third official career”. The first was as a secretary in New York City for Pocketbooks, Inc. The second (and her favorite) was as a school teacher in Ithaca, New York, and in Lewiston, Maine. The third is working in the office for Maine Equine Associates. “I have always enjoyed projects with David, and understanding more about MEA is great. Talking to and meeting clients is lots of fun. Most of you already know that I’m only in the office; don’t ask me anything about horses. I’m still learning what colors they are, and Erin gives me little tests!”
Bonnie grew up in Pelham, New York, and went to school from kindergarten thru high school with David. Her hobbies are reading, gardening, swimming, and maybe she’ll start learning to play the bagpipes again. Her best achievement- their children, who have become exceptional adults and good friends to their parents.
